One thing I've tried to do with these POTA fan-casts is to be economical and nerdy. Casey Affleck isn't a big name or a big guy, but I think he'd be a swell Ray Palmer. Christina Ricci and Mel Gibson are both just famous enough to keep the movie premiere out of the Redbox, but are affordable and bring the right kind of baggage to their parts. With Chronos, I wasn't as picky, since there isn't a lot to the character on the page beyond the resemblance to Tricky Dick. I wanted an atypical pick-- someone believable as a criminal of science, and I could go older since the role wouldn't be physically demanding. Brad Dourif is best known as the voice of Chucky in the Child's Play series, but he's a fantastic character actor with a wide range of roles under his belt (my favorite being Doc Cochran on Deadwood.) I think he'd have great chemistry with Affleck, which to me is more important than how he'd look in green & yellow with vertical striped leggings.

I LOVE Brad Dourif--like you, especially as Doc from Deadwood--and I like your reasons for these casting decisions. After I finish my Justice League project, I'll post my casts for the rest of the DCU, but I cast Leland Orser as Chronos.
I chose Dourif for Anton Arcane, and Christina Ricci for Abigail Arcane.
Orser's an interesting choice. I've never seen him step up to a villainous role. My only exposures have been in the wimp/victim mode. Any recommendations for follow-up?
Weird that we both pared Dourif and Ricci, especially with regard to very different super-being franchises who happen to share a prominent villain in the Floronic Man. Actually, there's a part I could see Orser in...
Wow... you're not going to believe this, but I was actually referring to an older set of my notes. Leland Orser wasn't my final pick for Chronos.... He WAS my pick for Floronic Man!!!
For Chronos I went with Ben Mendelsohn, who played Daggett in THE DARK KNIGHT RISES. I liked his pettiness and jealousy, and he was also good in KILLING THEM SOFTLY. For him--and Orser, too, I guess--I was going with more of a slimy, weasel villain than more conventional.
I think we caught the same train of thought!
He seems more like an Alpheus V. Hyatt than a Chronos (who WB would probably pick to be portrayed by someone much younger).
I don't expect anyone to take these suggestions seriously. It's just a bit of fun to float around the brain.
